Children in Action
WMU® believes that it is never too soon to get involved in missions. That is why we offer a variety of ways to involve children in missions through missions education. This age-level organization tells stories of how God is working in the world today and teaches girls and boys that they have a purpose in God’s plan. As children engage in relevant curriculum they will begin to develop a biblical worldview and global perspective. Children will also be taught the foundations of the Christian faith.
What is Children in Action?
Children in ActionSM (CA) is the missions organization of WMU for girls and boys ages 6-11 or grades 1-6. This organization provides an environment for learning about missions and scripture learning and application. As a result of using relevant curriculum the girls and boys will engage in learning experiences that teach the biblical basis of missions as well as international missions, North American missions, historical and contemporary missions. Children will participate in praying, giving and doing missions. As children grow they will be able to learn how to develop a lifestyle of missions. This organization provides a great outreach to children in your community.
How can I start or grow Children in Action in my church?
We are so glad that you are interested in Children in Action. Your involvement in a child’s life can make a huge difference.
Children in Action is designed to meet weekly, with plans given through the bi-monthly, curriculum, Children in Action Leader. Activities, games and stories which are provided with younger and older age groupings are included. There are activity pages for children that are to be copied from the Children in Action Leader and used during the Children in Action meeting. These can be copied and grouped along with the MK Prayer Calendar to make a monthly booklet for each child. In addition to learning about missions, children will be able to learn how to apply the Bible to their lives, learn how to pray and intercede for others and have opportunities to do missions. Scripture memory is a part of Children in Action. Children in Action Leader can be ordered here.
If your church has never had any other WMU age-level organizations for girls and boys in your church please visit our New Start Page because you could qualify for a year of a limited amount of discounted material.
