Ministry Opportunities

South Carolina WMU provides numerous missions ministry opportunities for the local church. Some of the missions ministry opportunities are mission support and some are mission action opportunities.

Mission support is defined as promoting interest in or promoting the cause of missions and missionaries in order to keep the mission of God moving forward. Through mission support, people support missionaries and missions work through their giving and encouragement. Mission support is a practical way for a church to participate in missions.

Mission action is defined as the performance of redemptive, loving service for people of special need or circumstance in the name and spirit of Christ, and sharing the gospel with them. Mission action is also responding to social and moral issues. Mission action is a direct and personal way to express a church’s belief that all people need God and must come to Him through Jesus Christ. Through mission action a church can identify itself as a ministering body and demonstrate concern for people who are separated from God.
