"We were so blessed to be able to spend four days with the children, both at Blossom Gardens and at Garland Hall. We did a full Vacation Bible School for all of the older kids and of course loved on those sweet babies. The needs are overwhelming but each orphanage does the best they can. Blossom Gardens has such a need for more workers. There was so little joy there. It was heart breaking. Those kids blessed our socks off and we were so thankful to share Jesus' love with them. The older kids in Garland Hall orphanage have such a strong faith and love for the Lord. Of course, the needs were great there as well. Those kids just need attention and need to know they are important to someone. We had so many witnessing opportunities at the hotel and in the airport with the Victory Sports bracelets. It was an amazing experience for our team.
A two year old boy came to Blossom Gardens Orphanage while we were there. He was so sweet and loving and I was just so saddened that he was going to have to adjust to "the system". I played with him some and then was asked to go to another room to help feed the babies. On my way back to the kitchen, all the toddlers were asleep, except for Rowen ... he was sobbing in his crib with his arms outstretched to me. I reluctantly went to pick him up, fearing I would get in trouble from a worker. He gave me the biggest grin through that tear-stained face and hugged me tightly. I was able to cuddle him for an hour and then he finally went to sleep. Each day after that, when he would see me, he would come running up to me with out-stretched arms for a hug!"
