In reponse to South Carolina Baptists desire to help with the disaster in Haiti, Cliff Satterwhite, Director, Disaster Relief Group, has offerered the following suggestions. ♦ Follow Disaster Relief updates through the SCBC website, and include Haiti in regular church prayer ministry.
♦ Register for South Carolina Disaster Relief Training, Friday-Saturday, March 5-6, Anderson University, Anderson, South Carolina. Those interested in Haiti volunteerism can attend a special, embedded, training event on Saturday, March 6 as part of the Disaster Relief Training. Online registration is available through the SCBC website. Interested volunteers may also call the Disaster Relief Group at (803) 765-0030.
♦ Donations may be mailed to South Carolina Baptist Convention, Disaster Relief Fund, 190 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, South Carolina 29210. Donations may be designated for Haiti, and 100 percent of funds will be used in Haiti relief.
♦ Woman's Missionary Union will request a grant from the HEART (Humanitarian Emergency Aid for Rebuilding Tomorrow) Fund, held by the WMU Foundation, to assist our Baptist sisters in this part of the world as they seek to help others and begin rebuilding. 100% of the money received for the HEART Fund goes directly to meet the needs of the people affected.
